Tyler's 1 year check up!

It's official, Tyler is off the charts! Today I took him for his 1 year check-up while Addam was at work. I braved it alone with our strong little one year old. He loved being there, he was flirting up a storm in the waiting room and just running around and laughing. When he was weighed he loved it, he just clapped his hands. His official weight is now 28lbs on the dot! HUGE!! No wonder everyone's arms get tired so fast but Addam's and mine! He stands 2ft 8 in now, and is completely off the charts for height. His head circumfrence is 19.5, and this is off the charts too! That's because he's a smart cookie (so I'm a little baised, it's okay!). He got shots and a blood draw at the lab, and was a total champ! He cried after our stop at the lab, but while crying waved bye-bye to the staff!

Race Track!

Addam's car (It's actually the "family's car", Hehehe).

Well, everyone pretty much knows that we are a CAR family. So we hit the race track this past weekend with the new member of our family. Addam finally got his dream car, a 2001 Pontiac Trans AM WS6. The old Trans AM is being parted out and going to good homes in the Southern region of the USA, I just can't wait until it is all gone! We met up with my mom and stepdad Don at the track and had sandwiches and fruit under the easy up Grammy brought. It was warm out, but not too bad. Addam and Don raced a lot and had a blast! Addam's best time was 13.6 seconds and he topped out at 102 MPH!! Addam had a lot of fun, and Tyler loves to be at the track! It was a great family night!

4th of July

Tyler & Daddy enjoying the pool!

Hi Mommy! It's cold in here! :)

We had an awesome 4th of July. We were so happy to have Addam with us, it was the first time in 5 years he didn't have to work on the holiday. We spent the day as a family. Addam and my stepdad Don put in a drip and sprinkler system in our backyard, and it's so nice to have!! I love it, can you tell?! We then headed to Citrus Heights for our annual block party that has been going on now for 25 years!! We just kept going after we moved to the Bay Area so many years ago and it's such a wonderful place to be. Everyone I grew up with still comes to their parent's homes and now we all bring our kids, wife's/husband's, girlfriends/boyfriends, etc. It's so nice to share such a wonderful day with so many people who we are close to! We had enough activities to keep Tyler busy. Between the pool, bounce house, and fireworks there wasn't too much down time!

The fireworks have started!

Tyler just sat and watched the fireworks, but by the time it was dark enough to see them and really enjoy them, he was done! He was so tired, I took him in while Addam did our fireworks with everyone else. We missed my brother Steve too, he was out on a strike team fighting fires in Humbolt and Shasta. We can't wait for him to get home, we miss him!

WALKING!!!

Tyler making his "CHEESE!" face. So funny!

The man on a mission. Walking to his toys!

Yes, you read it right! Tyler started walking on June 26th!! We were at Little Gym for our weekly class and he was standing for a LONG time, which he has never done. And he stood for the whole welcome song and when were done singing he just started walking across the mats!! He probably took about 15 or so steps, but all by himself! It was amazing to see! Of course Addam missed it and he was so upset, he was at work and couldn't believe Tyler walked while he was gone! But he is a walking man all over the house now and is loving his new freedom. Sierra our dog is handling it well too since he is much faster now!

Kitchen Play Time!

Tyler with his pot & spoon.

Tyler has decided that whenever I am in the kitchen cooking he would like to be in there as well. It's so fun to watch him look and point and talk in baby talk about what I'm doing and getting to make a meal or snack for us. The kitchen was baby proofed by Daddy because Mr. Curious was getting into everything and we were afraid he might get hurt since our pots and pans are pretty heavy. So I decided to give him his own little pot and wooden spoon to play with. He walks all over the house with his wooden spoon. And if I have put it away the night before, he walks over to the cabinet and gets his spoon out and starts making music. He's sooooooo funny!

Hi Mommy! I love my spoon!

Swim Lessons

Well, we or maybe Mommy decided that Tyler should try out swim lessons through the local pool here in Folsom. It's a parent and tot class and I thought, "What a great thing to do, he'll love it!". Boy was Mommy wrong! Tyler loved swim lessons for about 5 minutes, then was looking all around for a water slide to go down like we have at the pool at our gym. Plus it was nap time when we had our lesson, so it just wasn't worth it. In the end we decided Mommy will be the swim teacher since she did it for so long! We learned a lesson for our little one!
