Probation is officially over!

Addam getting his official letter of completion of probation.

Steve's turn!

Addam & Tyler

Today was a great day for both Addam and Steve and the rest of their class, 07-1. They are no longer considered "Probies", they are officially Rookies! They completed their one year probationary period and are enjoying being done! Though most of their class will continue on to Paramedic school, they are officially apart of the department. They can now finally sit in the recliners in the day room, watch tv if they wish, etc. They had a very nice little ceremony where they recieved a new "shield" which they where on their helmets. Tyler clapped for everyone and made sure he was recognized as well! We had a great time and are so happy probation is over! Congrats to Addam & Steve and the rest of the 07-1 class!

Katie's 2nd Birthday

On May 25th we celebrated our niece Katie's 2nd birthday! How time flies! She had a Winnie the Pooh birthday party with a Pooh Bear cake created by her Mommy Jessica. We all had fun and Tyler was in awe of all the big kids walking. He's trying hard to walk and is holding onto everything at this point. Soon enough he'll be running! We had a wonderful day celebrating Katie's special day and loved being with family!

Grammy's Birthday & the Car Show at the Zoo

Tyler rode with Grammy & Grandpa to the car show! He loved it!
Grammy & Tyler at the park. How cute!

We had an exciting day with my family. My mom celebrated her "29th" birthday again.. hehehe.. and we all decided to go to a car show at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary. It was held by the Cappuccino Cruisers, a local car group here in Folsom. We braved the drizzly & cold weather and had a great time! Lots of car lovers turned up to show their cars despite the rain. We also got to meet the Folsom Police Mounted Patrol, Tyler kept calling the horse a "Dog!". He loved to pet the horse and it was so fun to watch him learn about a new animal. We visited the zoo, and Tyler's new favorite animal of the day was the monkey and the brown bear's. He made the monkey sound every time we walked by the monkey exhibit. After the car show we headed back to our house and everyone took a nap. Then we had dinner at a local chinese food place and we surprised my Mom with an ice cream pie! We had a wonderful day with Grammy! Happy "29th" Birthday Grammy!

The Little Gym

Tyler is officially in gym class now. We decided to sign him up to our local Little Gym. It's an age specific gym, where they do interactive play and they do skills of the day. Tyler loved Miss Kelsie and found a whole room of new friends! He's the only non-walker in there, but also one of the youngest. But he wanted to walk like them so he held onto everything and cruised around!! His new favorite "skill" is a forward roll. We do them all over the house and he just smiles and claps his hands when he is done. After only one night, I met a few mom's and we are trying to start up a play group for kid's in the area. If you want to join up let me know it would be great! I'll take pictures at our next class on June 12, Daddy will be at that class too, so it'll be LOTS of fun!

Mother's Day

Can you believe I forgot to put up a blog about Mother's Day?! Lack of sleep will do that right? I had a wonderful 1st official Mother's Day. Tyler and Addam got me roses and cards, Tyler's card made me almost cry (yes, I'm a sap!) and of course Addam's made me laugh! I also was treated to a new "diaper" bag. It's actually a Northface backpack, but in our house it's a diaper bag! It was too hard to get around with the old one's and easier with a real backpack to run after him and play at the park, etc. I'm a lucky woman and I'm blessed each day with the love of my wonderful husband and my little boy. We also had my family over for a Mom's day BBQ. My Grandma, Auntie, Uncle, Mom, and Stepdad were all there and we had a wonderful time! Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies out there!!

Our kitchen is DONE!

So after only 4 days of work, the kitchen is complete. We are just waiting for the plumbing of our new fancy faucet to be done tomorrow (Friday). I love the kitchen and can't wait to put the counters to some use. We are so happy with the new look of our kitchen!

Day trip to Lake Tahoe

Since the kitchen was being demolished, we decided to take a drive up to Lake Tahoe since we live so close. It was beautiful weather and a little bit of snow was still on the mountains. We walked through all of the shops near Heavenly and then walked down a ways to where we could take Tyler on the beach and let him play in the sand. He loved it! Except that he wanted to eat all of the little rocks in the sand, but it was great! We had a fun day and we came home to the tile counters being gone and only ply wood for counters. We had no water in the kitchen or a stove! The granite goes on tomorrow and we can't wait!

Kitchen Demo!

It's demolition time at our house! Our kitchen is being overhauled. Addam and I finally decided to get new counter tops and back splash in our kitchen. We couldn't be more excited to get rid of the ugly tile that we had! YEAH! We'll keep you up to date on the final outcome.

Bounceopolis!

We were invited to our friend's son Nate's 2nd birthday party at Bounceopolis. It's a huge room full of jump houses and slides, etc. Nate's Mom Melinda is the daughter of our long time family friends Mary & Jerry. We've known them for almost 25 years, we lived next door to them when we lived in Citrus Heights. We are still great friends and love to be together. My mom, brother, Tyler and I went to the party and had so much fun. Tyler loved going in the bounce house with Unkie Steve because they would bounce so high! Addam again had to work, and he was bummed to miss another party with a bounce house. It was a very fun day!

Zach's 5th Birthday Party

Our nephew Zach turned 5 on April 30th. Such a big boy now and I can't believe how fast he's growing up! He had a Train themed birthday party, train bounce house, and even a train cake that was made by his Mommy, Jessica. Addam was at work that day, so Tyler and I went and we had a lot of fun!
